Dr Benjamin Grave
Having completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 1995, Dr Grave subsequently worked for some 18 months in private dental practice in Ballarat, Victoria.
In 1997 he went on to attend Oxford University and read for the degree of Master of Science. This provided the opportunity to study genetic aspects of craniofacial deformity, which continues to be an ongoing academic and surgical interest.
From 2000-2008 Dr Grave undertook accredited Oral and Maxillofacial training in Melbourne, Victoria. He gained a medical degree during the same period MBBS (University of Melbourne) and passed the Primary Surgical Examination, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Grave’s areas of expertise include:
- Dento-alveolar and wisdom tooth surgery
- Dental implants and associated grafting procedures
- Management of oral pathology
- Facial trauma
- Jaw correction surgery and associated secondary surgery such as chin/nasal procedures
- Craniofacial surgery
Since returning to Adelaide he completed a Fellowship and Master of Advanced Surgery (Craniofacial) at the Australian Craniofacial Unit. This provided him with an invaluable opportunity to fully develop his surgical skills. He continues his involvement with the Unit as a Consultant.
